What is special in the Search the Web Feature?

In the Whatsapp Search the Web feature, tap on the magnifying glass icon which is situated next to the message that has been forwarded many times. On a single tap, this will lead to your default browser where the message will be uploaded. However, this will permit you to verify the authenticity of the message through Web results. This can include articles that have debunked the message as untrue.

WhatsApp informed, “Providing a simple way to search messages that have been forwarded many times may help people find news results or other sources of information about the content they have received.” Moreover, WhatsApp put a limit on the number of times the message has been sent. The necessity of this feature is to maintain the private nature of WhatsApp.

Why Search the Web feature is important?
