We haven’t seen good phones from Motorola in recent times. But as the 5G Market is emerging sooner than we thought, they brought their new flagship with 5G capabilities. Let’s have a brief overview of what Motorola Edge+ has to offer and can it manage to make a space in the flagship territory?
Let’s start with the build and design up-front. Motorola Edge+ comes with the 6.7 inches 1080p AMOLED screen. It comes with a trendy 90Hz refresh rate. It is an excellent panel with a great viewing angle and ready for HDR10+ content. And yes it comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack now that’s refreshing isn’t it?
Talking about cameras Motorola has got it all covered. Motorola Edge+ comes with a triple camera setup on the back giving some good quality pictures. The primary is a 108 MP optically stabilized camera with f/1.8 lens which does the 1 in 4 pixels binning. Which turned out good especially in the low light performance. The secondary is an 8 MP telephoto camera with 3x zoom backed by ois. The 3rd camera is an ultrawide camera with 16 MP with a 117° field of view. ToF sensor is present to enhance the bokeh effect and a 25MP selfie camera hiding in the punch-hole display towards the top left.
As far as internals go they are rock solid be it the top of the line Snapdragon 865. Coupled with 12GB of fastest LPDDR5 ram and 256GB ufs 3.0 storage. The handset is true 5G working with both sub 6GHz for the global version. In US Motorola Edge+ is partnering exclusively with Verizon to provide mmWave 5G with download speeds as high as 4GB.
As far as battery goes the fairly big display with excellent internals required. A beefy battery which is kept in consideration the Motorola Edge+ comes with a 5000 mAh. The screen is 1080p only Motorola is claiming a battery life of about 2 full days, incredible right?
In the end, Motorola Edge+ comes with a sweet package of everything. Which makes a smartphone look remarkable to be it the glass sandwich design with the in-display fingerprint scanner, 3.5 mm headphone jack, stock android, and all its other works. Making it a sweet buy but with great specs comes a great price. In the US the Motorola Edge+ is going on sale on May 14 at a price of $1000. With that price, it competes with the likes of Samsung S20+ and the iPhone 11 Pro Max. So it’s for you to decide whether it pleases you over the other flagship needless to say Motorola Edge+ has got everything you need to be covered.
