GoPro Hero 9 Black launched with 5K video recording, 23.6 MP sensor

GoPro Hero 9 Black which enables 5K video recording has been launched. It is the GoPro’s flagship action camera for this year and this features a larger battery, higher resolution sensor, front-facing color LCD display removable lens cover. This new camera takes the top place in the GoPro’s lineup, while the existing Hero 8 Black should ultimately move down at price. Followed by the Hero 7 Black that will now serve as the entry model.

The company is only updating its main Hero line this year. The GoPro Max launched last year will continue to be the company’s 360-degree camera offering. This GoPro Hero 9 Black will also be compatible with GoPro Mods, involving a new Max Lens mod.

GoPro Hero 9 Black Specifications:-

This camera comes up with a new 23.6-megapixel image sensor and is powered by the GP1 processor from the earlier model. This camera can now record up to 5K 30fps videos and capture 20-megapixel stills. There is a new front-facing color LCD display that will be useful for framing your shots when you point the camera towards you. This camera has a bigger battery compared to the previous model and the company says that we can see its improvement up to 30 percent in battery life. Hence, the camera is a little larger and heavier than previous models, due to these improvements.

There are also new software features on this camera. These involve HyperSmooth 3.0 that guarantees enhanced stabilization and the ability to use Boost mode in all resolutions, including 5K. And also the new TimeWarp 3.0 mode now allows you to slow down your hyper-lapse videos to real-time speed. With audio or half speed for a slow-motion effect, by just tapping the display. It is moreover capable of performing horizon leveling within the camera itself if you select the ‘Linear+Horizon Levelling’ option.


However, this GoPro Hero 9 Black is priced at Rs. 49,500 in India and will be available around late October. The company will also be launching the new Media Mod for this camera in the coming months. That is said to provide an enhanced microphone with a foam cover to suppress wind noise and a weather-resistant design.
